Challenges

We recieved this email last Wednesday from Matt.  It's been a busy week, so I wasn't able to update his blog.  Hopefully we'll have another email to post today!

The past week has been tough. We got a new ward mission leader that will hopefully get the ball rolling with less-active work. We took him to a lesson though and he ruined everything. From the second we walked in the door, he was dominating conversation, he would INTERRUPT us to dominate the "teaching" (not that anything was taught, because the Spirit was NOT there). It was a horrifying experience. The lesson was with Jeremiah, our black friend that is totally prepared for the gospel and that we had the amazing lesson with before. So we called Jeremiah a couple days later to see if there was a good time for us to stop by again. He said that he didn't want to meet with us anymore. AGHGHGHAHGHGAHHDGAHGHAHDGHAAh! I was so angry!! Now I'm just depressed and my companion is depressed. I am never taking this guy to a lesson again. If he can get the ward to do missionary work, then that's great, but I don't think Jeremiah would have dropped us if we would have taken someone else to the lesson or if we would have gone by ourselves. The thing that I don't understand is: this guy just got home from an old folks mission with his wife in New York City. What the hey? I sure hope that he had the Spirit with him on his mission and that it guided him through all his babbling with the people he taught in New York, because if he didn't have the Spirit with him, then he must have led a lot of would-be converts away from the Church. Really irritating. I hate being depressed.

We had interviews with Pres. McCracken yesterday. I hope that my companion and I stay in this area. I'm praying for it.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. We are going to some really cool members named the Spalka's. They are going to deep fry a turkey. I'm excited. I've never had deep fried turkey before. it sounds delicious.

Emily, don't eat too much or else you won't be able to run! =S I really wish I was in Vegas so that I could see you cross the finish line. Make sure that Mom takes a lot of pics and that you send them to me so that I can pretend to be there. :)

For everybody's information, I do have a coat. Thanks for the concern Mom! I love you! I love Dad too. :)

Tami, I didn't get your thing with all the blog posts, but I really look forward to it. I love Thanksgiving. Attitude changes everything. Choosing to have a good attitude can change your whole life.

I hope everybody is having a great time at Todd's and Natalie's house for Thanksgiving. Remember that Thanksgiving isn't all about the turkey. :) ...though I am very thankful for the oppertunity to gorge myself with food once a year. haha.

I love you all. Thanks for your prayers and support. I can feel it. It helps me get up the mountain at night. (without walking now!!!) ;) haha.
