Flake outs and blow outs

6/28/10

So what has happened the last two weeks?  Well 2 weeks ago we had a baptism set and fall through.  He is not all there and therefore very easily influenced.  His Uncle and Aunt (who he lives with) are very against the church and they convinced him to hop town right before the baptism.  When he comes back, we are going to convince him to be baptized and then baptize him really quick before his uncle or aunt have anything to say about it.  They try to convince him that he is not worthy to be baptized and we know that he has had an interview that he passed which means he is worthy.  Whatever.  It will happen either way.  Too bad it wasn't on the 20th because that was his birthday and he was very excited about that.

We had our last Zone Conference with Pres. McCracken last week.  It was pretty sad to see him leave.  This week on Friday, we are going to Reno to meet our new Mission President, President Black.  It's kinda exciting and scary at the same time.  He is probably going to crack down on us or something.

Saturday, we had to go to Lovelock so I could do a baptism interview.  It went well.  The baptism was right after the interview so it was a good thing that she passed, haha.  It was for a 16 year old girl.  she is a really nice girl.  She is the first one in her immediate family to join the church.  She was introduced by a friend asking her to YW activities.  Pretty cool.  On the way back from Lovelock, we had a blowout on the highway.  I ran over a fencing nail.  The puncture was pretty bad.  So we drove 60+ miles back to Winnemucca on our donut spare going 50 mph the whole way.  It was the slowest drive of my life.  Our WML came with a trailer and picked us up from Winnemucca and took us back to battle mountain.  We got it repaired today.  Yay for a car that works!

Today is a slow P-day.  The members that we usually hang out with and go to the skate park with are out of town.  poo.  so we're kinda bored today.

Well, that's about it for me.  No more excitement here.  This week we have a parade and a fireworks show.  Too bad it's illegal to set off your own fireworks here in Lander County.  Even though they have 2 big fireworks stores here in town...

Cool beans.  The church is true.  I know it with all my heart and soul.
