Nearing the end!

April 25, 2011
Man, this just gets weirder and weirder by the day.  Everybody knows that I'm going home.  I'm reminded at least every hour by someone that I meet.  It sure is a weird feeling.  Everybody at church yesterday thought that it was my last Sunday and were saying goodbye and stuff and I had to tell them that I had one more Sunday left.  Haha.  First thing that happened this morning after I got out of the shower was I went downstairs for some breakfast and our member was doing some ironing.  He saw that I came down and said something like, "Well are you getting anxious?"  Then while I was studying we got a call from a member and he was like, "It's your last week insn't it?  We need to have you over for dinner and give you some carne asada that we promised you like months ago."  We have 2 maybe 3 lessons tonight so that will probably be a good end to the day and I think we have at least 1 lesson scheduled every day this week so that will help.  I know that I won't know how successful I was on my mission until a few years from now when I only have memories.

District meeting tomorrow should be interesting.  It is tradition in our mission that we watch Labor of Love last district meeting of the transfer that a missionary is going home.  It's that movie that was made in like the 80's and this missionary is on the plane home looking back on his mission and he starts talking to this guy on the plane about the gospel and stuff.  It is a very trunky movie haha!  Except for the fact that he knew that he was a representative of the Lord until the very end.  The topic of district meeting is supposed to be How to use your time wisely, so I think it is very applicable anyway, haha.

Nick's baptism was awesome!  It was one of the most spiritual baptisms I have ever been to.  Anna was there, Sis. Titus was there, Nick's parents were there, Elder Nunnally was able to make it, Nick's and Anna's friend was there who they tag-teamed a few weeks ago, haha.  After the baptism, Nick's parents were talking to Nick's new bishop and Elder Kite (who is one of the senior missionaries in our ward who drove us) for like an hour.  They said that they were extremely impressed with the missionaries and with the change that Nick had made in the past 2 months and they were very interested.  I think that they will be baptized if not soon, then eventually.

There won't be any baptisms at the end of this week.  We are trying to get Madison's Dad ready to be able to baptize her and the bishop said that he needed a little bit more time.  No problem.  It will happen, and it needs to happen the right way.  There is another family that we are planning on setting with a baptism date tonight and we are getting a couple new investigators hopefully.  It should be an exciting last week.

Thank you for the encouragement, Todd.  It really helped.  I almost felt like just giving up fighting for my last week.  It won't happen.

Well, that is about all.  This might be my last email, but who knows.

I love you all!
