Here for a Reason

April 4th, 2011
I found out that one of the kids (he's 8) that I have taught is getting baptized on the 9th of May by his father who has been inactive for almost all of his adult life.  I visited them on Saturday and found that out.  I was SOOOOO HAPPY!!!  I was also very sad that I wasn't going to be there.  They were very sad too but the date cannot be changed since it is 8 year-old btisms.  I started working with these people a year ago when I was with Elder Taylor and then we helped them move.  I didn't know where they were moving to because we only helped them load their truck.  I got into this area and within the first few days that I was here, Elder Boyce introduced me to them.  I recognized the names immediately and when we saw each other, we all knew that I was here for a reason.  I know that this family is one of the reasons that I am here on my mission.  It's very nice to be able to realize these things while I am still here and it is very nice to know that the Lord directs this work and know that he knows what each person needs.

Also the Elder's quorum president in our ward participated in a stake youth conference thing.  The vision of the stake president was to lock the youth in the church for like 2 days and present to them the Book of Mormon.  Many people were involved and given different sections of the Book of Mormon to tell in song, video, stageplay, etc. and it was supposed to be all original and they were supposed to go all out and use every resource available to them.  Bro. Harmon is a very good artist and so he created a video about the conversion of Alma the Younger.  IT IS AWESOME!  I have a copy of the video and you can also see it on his website littlelds.com  I was thinking specifically about your seminary class Mom.  It is really good.

Well that is about it for me.  I know that this gospel is true.  It is "the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth".  All we must do is have faith and repent.
