Short one this week. Tosh is going to be baptized on Saturday. Woohoo!!! Transfer calls are Sunday night so next Monday, I'll be able to tell you if I'm getting transferred or not. We've been running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We are taking lunch today again to email and this computer only gives you 30minutes so I have to read all your emails next week. One thing though:I really look forward to Matt's weekly updates. He's such a boost of happiness! I hope we have good news of Tosh's baptism in his next email!!
I was reading through the vision of the Tree of Life in 1 Nephi 8 and the interpretation in 1Nephi 11-14. I have read this many times but something stood out to me this time. It was talking about the iron rod being the word of god. This time when I read it, I thought of the scripture John1:1 where it says that Jesus Christ is called "The Word". It suggested a very different picture of the vision in my head. I now can imagine Jesus Christ leading each of us by the hand down the path to Eternal Life. I like the picture I have now. It tells the relationship that we need to have with our savior. Another scripture that brought new meaning was D&C 112:10 "Be thou humble and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand and give thee answer to thy prayers." He is reaching out to us but we have to swallow our pride in order to follow him and keep his commandments as he leads us down the path of this life and through our trials and tribulations. I love you all. Thank you for the emails.

Baptism & Transfer
It's taken me a while to post Matt's email from last week. I don't know why. Maybe because I wanted to combine it with the letter I got from him in the mail. But I also wanted to scan some of the pictures he sent, too. My only excuse is that I've been sick and have just not gotten around to it. So here's Matt's email from last week. A new post with updates from his letter and scanned pictures will come shortly! We have yet to hear from him this week so far.

Awww Matt. I am so impressed by you. I love reading your messages each week - I always get either a good laugh, or a bit of inspiration. Sometimes even both! Thank you for your dedication!
And Em - thanks so much for posting all of this for him, it is such a great way to keep up with everything!
