The Sheep uttered another Peep:
In last weeks District Mtg, the purpose of the training was to get us to bring the scriptures alive for our investigators. As a District, we acted out the story of Ammon. I was assigned the role of a sheep. I brought out my years of training of hearing and making sheep noises. I was probably the best sheep human there ever was that played in that story. Haha. It was really fun. While everybody else was having fun cutting off arms and such, I was hiding in the corner making pathetic sheep noises. I played my part well. :)
Tosh Dawson is not baptized yet. We had to push her baptism back a few weeks because her boss wouldn't let her come to church. She quit her job and was able to come to church 2 times in a row now! She loves it! Her baptism is scheduled for the 8th now. New update though. On Wednesday, her apartment was broken into. She moved out immediately and we helped get rid of some of her stuff. It is ridiculous at what this woman is going through for her decision to be baptized. She cannot deny the answer she has received from her Father in Heaven and is still set to be baptized. We are hoping to meet with her today or tomorrow morning to work out some details. I become more and more amazed by her every day. I'm honestly not sure if I would be able to be as strong as she is. I am very impressed by her testimony. I love her. I love all of the people that we are working with. It's weird to think that I'm able to love people that I barely know, but I do.
I have a goal to read all of Jesus the Christ before my first 6 months are up. I am already almost done. I love reading about the life of Jesus Christ. The more I read, the more impressed I am of his conviction and love for each of us. Every single thing he did in his life was for the benefit of those around him. If you haven't read it, I encourage you to. It really helps to deepen your understanding and love for our savior. He was always striving to increase the faith of the people by the works he did. My favorite point that it makes in that book is when he was healing the blind man. In previous miracles he was able to heal by a word, why couldn't he just heal this man by a word? The answer that Elder Talmage points out is that he could have, but he put his hands on the eyes of the blind man to increase his faith in the power of Jesus Christ. What a simple act to give a single man so much confidence. It boggles my mind to know how much he loves all of us. I love you and I am glad you are doing well.
Love, Elder Matthew Blakemore
