Hellfire & Brimstone

Kind of a discouraging week for Matt this time.  Transfers can be tough!!  Hopefully things will get figured out and he can get back to work!

AGH!!!  Double transfers are no fun.  I have no idea what i'm doing here.  My companion is kinda weird, but is pretty motivated to do work, so I won't complain too much.  We spent the first day of the transfer helping move ourselves into a member's home.  They are pretty cool.  Their last name is Krys and they are a little older than Mom and Dad.  They are also converts of about a year and a half.  Something kinda funny-  we had dinner with them yesterday and we were out.  They called the other elders (because we forgot to give them our new phone #) and told them to call us to pick up some ice on our way back home.  We were kinda confused since it was Sunday, so we ignored that message and just went home.  When we got there, they asked us if we had picked up the ice.  We said no, it's Sunday...  They said, "So what?"  So we had to teach them about keeping the Sabbath day holy and how we don't believe in buying anything on sunday.  They thought we were joking at first but they could tell from our faces (surprised) that we weren't.  We couldn't believe that the missionaries hadn't told them that when they were originally taught.  Only sisters could screw that one up. :)  Just kidding Tami!!  But it was sisters that taught them...  haha.

So we live in their basement.  They have 2 dachshunds that are extremely annoying and we don't have anywhere to cook or store our food.  that will need to change.  Other than that it has been... still crazy.  I forgot:  at first we were assigned 2 wards.  Then when we got to transfers, the high councilor over missionary work said that we were only in one ward.  We didn't believe him because the Zone Leaders and the A.P.s were telling us that we had 2.  So the high councilor guy had this big power struggle with the mission president saying that he was in charge of missionaries in his stake... which is completely false.  Finally it got all settled and we are now only coviering the Sparks 1st Ward.  I hate controversy and contention.  It is hard to have the spirit direct us when people are fighting over us.  Annoying.

This week has been testing my patience a lot.  I have to drive because my companion needs to renew his license.  I hate city driving.  I also hate pedestrians that don't obey traffic laws.  I also hate stupid intersections and I also hate people that make fun of my driving even though they know that I have no idea where I am trying to go.  Yarrrgh.  GPS's suck too.  I hate new areas.  I want to go back to Dayton where everything is slower and there isn't any stress and there are people that I know and love.  I want to teach people, not waste a whole hour trying to figure out a place to tract that is in our area (the area maps that we have suck).  When we did find a place, we tracted into a member that told us that the missionaries had tracted their neighborhood the week before.  The missionaries won't meet up with us to tell us about any of the investigators that they had before we got here.  The ward mission leader is out of town.  All in all, not a fun week.  Sometimes I don't like it when Heavenly Father decides to make us stronger.  But I know that Faith in Jesus Christ can help us through any trial.  Also, perfect love casteth out all fear.  i take that fear to also mean frustration, desperation, etc.  Anyway.  I don't have any more time.  Thank you for the emails and making this week a little better.  I love you all.
