Last week.... We got 20 lessons! That is our standard of excellence. Woot! 4 new investigators, and one of those wanted us to go over and watch conference with him (which we did). It has been a pretty amazing week. What was interesting was that this week we had a lot of things go on that were non-proselyting. Monday was P-day. Tuesday we had an impromptu Zone Meeting and then we had to take our car to the office to get some repairs (not from me, haha) so we were on bike. Wednesday was all on bike and we were fasting for new investigators and found one from tracting (the one we watched conference with) in a gated community (which we never do, cuz it might or might not be illegal... some sisters got arrested once for doing it). Thursday we had Zone conference which we didn't get home from until like 4:00. Friday we weekly planned so we didn't do anything (proselyting-wise) until the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday we had combined, 10 hours of just sitting. It was pretty amazing that we did it. Like Paul told the Corithians, "When I am weak, then I am strong." We had a lot less time than we normally do this week (weak) but God just put people in our path that we could teach (strong). It was pretty amazing.
General Conference was pretty amazing. There were a lot of good things that I learned. Some thing cool happened on Saturday. We got a text referral from church HQ for a lady that wanted a BoM. We went over to her house and we were able to teach a lesson and found out that she might have breast cancer, so we gave her a blessing which made us late to our next appt. so that went overtime too which made us late for PH session of conference. We got there and Elder Oaks was going into the specific doctrine of healing blessings. It was pretty cool. I prayed during conference because I wanted the blessing that I gave to be honored and this lady (Ashley) to be healed. I received confirmation from the Holy Ghost not 5 minutes later that Heavenly Father had honored that blessing. She has a bunch of tests and a biopsy on Tuesday so we will see what happens. I hope that she has enough faith to retrieve (is that the right word?) that blessing.
We had a lesson with that couple (Colby and Brittany) that wanted missionaries to teach them. They are sooooooo cool! We are teaching them on Tuesday again. I am excited to talk about the Plan of Salvation and tell them details on how they can be a family for eternity. I love telling people that they can be eternally sealed to the ones that they love (or in their case, will love since their baby is not yet here). They said that everything was pretty new but they believed that everything we said was possible and that they would pray about it. It was kinda funny because when I asked them if they believed if it was possible that Joseph Smith was a prophet, Colby answered, "Well, yeah. Like you said, God has called prophets every time the world needs them. Why not now?" I've never had anybody say that before. I was surprised and very happy with his answer. His prayer will be answered. I know that he has sincerity of heart, real intent, and faith in Christ; the requirements for receiving the answer to any prayer.
Well, it was great to hear from you all. I'm out of time, but I will be back next week with updates! transfers are coming up again in 2 weeks. :'( I don't know if I'll be staying. But I'll be happy that I'm leaving this area completely turned around from what it was. I love missionary work. It is so fulfilling. I know this Gospel is true with all my heart.
