Getting armed with high-speed and righteousness

September 20, 2010
This week hasn't been too eventful. We had a lot of cancelled appts this week. I hate it when people cancel their appts because then we have to figure out what to do for ANOTHER hour of the day. And that is when the temptation to be lazy is the strongest. Oh well. Just gotta keep going.

Actually on Saturday evening, we went out to where they were holding the World Human Powered Speed Challenge. I'm sure you can look it up and see what it is all about. It was pretty cool. These people get on really lightweight bikes that they have to lay down on and then they put an aerodynamic shell over the top of them and let them go and see how fast they can go over 5 miles. All of the competitors were going 70+ mph!! I think the WR is 82 mph!!!!!! Crazy!

I got the Book of Mormon on my Ipod. That's pretty cool.

I was reading Nephi's version of the Tree of Life/history of the world vision. I was really impressed with the way the Angel of the Lord described the apostate people to Nephi. He would use terms like "whore of all the earth" and "church which is most abominable". It was kind of scary to realize what the Lord thinks of those churches that are "not of the First Born" and comforting to me that the answer is in a song sung by primary children: "I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow him in Faith. I believe in the Savior Jesus Christ. I'll honor His name. I'll do what is right. I'll follow his light. His truth I will proclaim." This is the only Church that teaches the fullness of His Gospel. This is the only Church that can completely "arm us with righteousness" as the angel describes. I'd challenge you to read that vision in ch. 11-14

It's amazing the things that you will find in there. I think it is my favorite story in the BoM.

Well, I have to go. I love you all.
