The news this week:
Well, I don't have any cool/weird people to talk about this time, but I have some pretty funny stories.
We were out knocking doors the other day and this lady opened the door and her dog was peeking around her leg. It was my turn for the door approach and I usually talk about things around the yard that are interesting, just to break the ice. Most people like to talk about themselves or the things that they have and so this usually works. This time, I couldn't find anything interesting to talk about, so I just told here that we were LDS missionaries. After I said the word missionaries, she flipped out and tried to slam the door, except that the dog was in the way. She about took her dogs head off!! It yelped and retreated and she slammed the door again. I felt sorry for the dog, but we couldn't help but laughing at the lady that almost killed her dog because she hated us so much. Haha.
The next door we knocked on, the door was already opened and we heard people talking inside. When we knocked, the parents told the kid to say nobody was home. A little boy came to the door. We asked him if his parents would talk to us and he didn't say anything. Then his 11 year old sister came to the door. She had like a permanent frown on her face. She looked SOOOO depressed!! She told us that nobody was home. We tried to brighten her mood and then asked her why she looked so unhappy. She said in a perfectly monotone but disgusted voice, "I don't need to be happy." She then proceeded to close the door and lock it. We both stood there for like 5 seconds and started to bust up laughing. It was just too perfect. We couldn't believe it. Haha. It was great. Some people are just weird. It is amazing how many weird people you run into when you are out there talking to everybody everyday. Hahaha.
Well, that's about it. We have a few people that might be close to being baptized pretty soon, so that is exciting. Not quite there yet. Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you.

I love hearing his funny stories! I laugh out loud every time. Now my big job this week is to actually make it to the post office before it closes so I can mail Matt's camera card back! I hope my failure in returning it promptly doesn't impact future sharing of pictures! (Matt - I promise to be better! Having a long holiday weekend with company in town is my excuse for being lame.)
